We are a Victorian tea room and shop based in Gilesgate, Durham. We sell a range of Tea, Gifts and Afternoon tea.

We are Based in an old militia building that pre dates 1865, The Vane Tempest Hall, once belonged to Lord Londonderry and his family, the building has a colourful history being used as many different things over the years, such as, a small pox hospital, a air raid look out and a community centre. The building is now a privet community centre, that relies on the community support, and the 9 other businesses Located in this beautiful historic building.

We Serve High Tea and Light Bites in our Victorian Tea Room, our goal is to make you feel like you have stepped back in time, surrounded by a warm atmosphere, and the illusion of a Victorian lifestyle. We serve our high tea on real China some dating back over 100 years, and we freshly bake everyday.

Our Executive High Tea is by booking only, it includes: A selection of Sandwiches’ on white and granary bread, a selection of Savoury Treats like our Home made Apple and Stuffing sausage roll’s, Cheese Scones and Cranberry and wensleydale parcel, Then we have our Selection Of cakes and tray bakes, Fruit Scone with Jam and fresh cream, Trifle and a unlimited supply of Breakfast tea or Filter coffee.
